The “Marchi+” call for proposals, aimed at Italian companies, represents a significant opportunity to obtain financial support in the protection and promotion of their trademarks at the European and international level.
With a facility covering up to 90 percent of the expenses incurred (for the design, protection and registration of trademarks) and a maximum amount of €25,000.00 per company, it is a chance not to be missed.
On September 5, 2023, the Canella Camaiora Law Firm, in collaboration with Fortitudo Finance, will hold an online event dedicated precisely to the 2023 edition of the new grants for SMEs: “Discover the 2023 edition of Patents+, Trademarks+ and Designs“. Registration is free but you must reserve a spot ➡️click here to attend.
The Canella Camaiora Law Firm, thanks to its experience and expertise, is at the disposal of companies wishing to take advantage of this opportunity, offering targeted assistance and advice. However, time to prepare is short and the “click day” is approaching: you need to act now.
Here is a detailed analysis of this facilitation.
The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, in collaboration with the General Directorate for the Protection of Industrial Property – Italian Patent and Trademark Office and Unioncamere, has launched a support initiative called “Marchi+”.
This is not a completely new facilitation, but the replication of a project that has already made it possible for Italian companies to recover, with percentages ranging from 80 percent to 90 percent, the investments incurred to design and register their trademarks both at the European and international level.
This joint effort aims to provide indispensable support to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the delicate task of protecting European Union and international trademarks, in order to establish and maintain the competitiveness of Italian companies in the global market.
Beneficiaries of the facilities under the “Trademarks +” Call for Proposals are enterprises that meet the following requirements:
The application can be filed from November 21, 2023. Participants must own the trademark by that date, and the trademark must have been filed or registered after January 01, 2020. For European trademarks, registration must be with EUIPO; for international trademarks, filing or registration must be with WIPO. In addition to these specific rules, there are other general requirements to be met.
Please pay attention! Preliminary steps should be taken immediately to fall within this time window.

The click day of “Trademarks+” edition 2023, set for 9:30 a.m. on November 21, is the crucial date for application submission. There is no fixed deadline, but the application can be submitted until the available resources, which amount to only two million euros, are exhausted.
It is therefore crucial that the registration and all necessary documentation be ready and in order by that date, as resources are allocated according to a counter evaluation procedure and in chronological order of submission.
There are no rankings. The managing entity will notify if the allocated resources are exhausted. For dedicated consultations, information on trademark registration or the “Trademarks+” call for proposals, you can request a quote or book an appointment through the Firm’s interactive forms (calculate quote – search in agenda).
A company may submit multiple applications for facilitation, for both Measure A (European trademarks) and Measure B (international trademarks), up to a total value of €25,000.00. The amount is subject to the limitations provided for each individual trademark and type of service. In the case of a European trademark subsequently extended internationally, the company may submit a single application to request both Measure A and Measure B, always subject to the overall limit of €25,000.
The Canella Camaiora Law Firm can assist the interested party in submitting the application for relief, thanks to the support of trusted professionals and partners. A special power of attorney is required, and some activities will require the cooperation and digital signature of the legal representative of the applicant company.
The Firm has the ability to assist only a limited number of clients in the submission of facilitation applications. Therefore, clients who have already registered a trademark with the assistance of the firm, or who will have registered it at the time of application submission, will be treated with priority.
The 2023 edition has some key changes from previous editions, including:
Eligible expenses are limited to a maximum of €25,000.00 per enterprise, with different categories and specific limits for each type of investment.
Measure A (80 percent of expenses):
Design: € 1,500.00
Assistance for filing: € 300.00
Priority searches: € 1,500.00
Legal assistance: € 1,500.00
Filing fees: 80%.
Measure B (90% of expenses):
Design: € 1,650.00
Filing assistance: € 350.00
Prior art searches: € 1,800.00
Legal assistance: € 1,800.00
Registration fees: 90%.
In summary, the “Trademarks+” call for proposals represents a substantial opportunity for Italian companies wishing to establish themselves in the global marketplace by receiving financial support – non-repayable – to protect and promote their trademarks. The 2023 edition, with its new features and opportunities, requires special attention to rules and deadlines. For companies intent on seizing this opportunity, the time to act is now.
