The master class consists of three indivisible modules. It takes into account both legal and tax profiles and, thanks to the expertise and experience in the field of the Canella Camaiora Law Firm, provides the opportunity to learn:

WHO THE MASTER CLASS IS DESIGNED FOR

The master class is open to a limited number of participants (only 16 places available). It is structured on the day-to-day needs of those who, working as freelancers or through an agency or studio, must professionally manage contracts/assignments with regard to:

The master class – through practical examples, schemes and operating procedures – teaches how to approach the illustrator/designer profession as a business, taking into account legal, tax and strategy aspects.

• The exchange of value between parties (contract practices and procedures);
• Elements of strategy (learning from the best);
• Principals’ motives for contracting;
• The quantification of compensation;
• Transfer of right vs. VAT;
• Case studies and concrete applications.

October 21, 2022 | CONTRACTS | “How to protect your business through knowledge of the relevant Italian legal framework”

• Image creation as the subject matter of the contract;
• The transfer/license of copyrights and Author’s rights in Italy;
• The assignment of design and logo design;
• The contract with the publisher;
• Authorship and credits;
• Flat fee vs. royalty fee;
• The right to information (reporting);
• The revocation of rights for non-use;
• Exclusivity clauses and territorial limitations;
• Duration, rescission, termination of the contract;

October 22, 2022 | PROCEDURES| “How to effectively manage negotiations through the application of contractual procedures and formats”

• The application of a template for dealing with negotiations;
• Protocols for handling appointments, e-mails, phone calls;
• The identification of the client’s requirements;
• The quote and economic proposal phase;
• The presentation of creativity;
• Confidentiality, publication and authorship credit;
• Leading negotiations and continuous improvement;
• Signing the contract proposal vs. silent acceptance;
• How to prevent and/or manage critical issues in the relationship with the client;
• Simulations and real-life applications.
