What does it mean to innovate in the Fashion industry? What legal rules should the creators of taste and style know? What are the protection strategies deployed by fashion houses in the Fast Fashion era? When can one really claim to have been copied?

Essential Course on Fashion Law not only illustrates the legal frameworks that professionals should know (Copyright, Trademarks, Designs), but also their actual use in the Fashion Industry. The course is also full of iconic references. You will meet the first of the Influencers, Queen Marie Antoinette and her dressmaker Rose Bertin. You will learn that Salvatore Ferragamo has filed more than three hundred patents and what the impact of some of the most famous designers has been…

The course is held in Italian language.

CONTENTS:

  1. Digital Communication and the Fashion Industry;
  2. The creation of a fashion design or collection;
  3. How Copyright protection works as applied to the Fashion industry;
  4. Which Designs should be Registered (the strategies of the Fashion Houses);
  5. Artistic creations and iconic products;
  6. The protection of designers’ names as trademarks.
